THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 60TH EDITION

RE-EVALUATING OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Hello and welcome to our 60th Edition of the Good News Magazine 2019.  We from the Good News Magazine would like to wish you a Happy New Year full of God’s blessings! Having said that, I believe each one of us sometimes need to sit down and check Biblically to see if our hearts line up with God’s heart.
As we begin examining ourselves this New Year, we must first make peace with our past and the relationships that have been broken through unforgiveness. 2018 is over and 2019 is already here. This is a good time to reflect and re-evaluate our relationship with our Lord. It is also a good time for God’s people to take inventory of their walk with the Lord. We should take a very close look at where we are in our relationship with Him. We need to examine ourselves and see where we have been, where we are and where the Lord wants us to be.

Let’s start by reading Psalms 139:23-24, Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. I believe all of us would want to walk right with God. We all desire to lead and live a holy life worth pleasing our Master. That’s why we need sometimes to ask ourselves, “Am I in the right direction? Have I sinned against God?” The more we continue to evaluate ourselves in this manner, the more we draw closer to God. As the Lord knows us thoroughly, and we are strangers to ourselves, we should earnestly desire and pray to be searched and proved by His word and Spirit. If there be any wicked way in me, let me see it; and do thou root it out of me. The way of godliness is pleasing to God and profitable to us; and will end in everlasting life. As believers, we all desire to be kept and led in this way, that we may not miss it, turn out of it, or tire in it. The best thing that happens when we allow God to search us through is that He will once again be able to lead us in the right path. Click HERE to continue reading #TheGoodNewsMagazine

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 59TH EDITION

SERVING ONE GOD By Justus Ondieki

Hello and welcome to our 59th Edition of the Good News Magazine. In this edition we are going to focus more on which God you serve.  Well, from the above title, you will agree with me that there are other gods that people serve other than the true One God whom we should serve. From the very beginning, God knew that men will worship other gods and turn away from Him. That is why He had to give the Ten Commandments which were to guide the children of Israel in the right way.

Let’s see what what Exodus 20:3-5 says, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Now, the first four of the Ten Commandments, tell our duty to God. It was fit that those should be put first, because man had a Maker to love, before he had a neighbor to love. The first commandment concerns the object of worship, JEHOVAH, and Him only. The worship of creatures is here forbidden. Whatever comes short of perfect love, gratitude, reverence, or worship, breaks this commandment. Whatsoever ye do, do all for the glory of God.

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 58TH EDITION

God Will Provide Through The Storms of Life -  By M. Deborah Senese

Hello and welcome back to our 58th Edition of the Good News Magazine. We hope and pray that you will continue to make God your Provider.

One of the things we usually set out to do when we hear a storm is coming is go to the store and make sure we get in enough provisions to see us through the duration of that storm.  We are so accustomed to this, that as soon as we get that warning, we kick into action. Sometimes, life sends us hurling through different kinds of storms. These can be situations that come on us so fast, there's no time to get provisions.  Some of these can be trials, sometimes it's health issues, perhaps the loss of a loved one that hit so unexpectedly.  We can't jump in our cars and run to the store for provisions for these things.  I know we as Americans really don't rely on provisions in our everyday life.
We have abundance everywhere we turn. Oh sure, we use the term, for instance we may say, – “The Lord provided us with a new car” or “The Lord provided our church with the means to get that new sound system.” Some of us remember times when God provided for needs in obvious ways like a check in the mail to cover rent or the generosity of a friend to pay for a hospital bill. We recognize these
as God’s provision, but we rarely depend on provision.  But shouldn't we be?
When God introduces Himself as Jehovah Jireh, meaning “the Lord will provide,” it’s not in the...Cick HERE to continue reading #TheGoodNewsMagazine

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 57TH EDITION

STORMS OF LIFE - By Justus Ondieki

We are very pleased to bring you our 57th Edition of The Good News Magazine. I know there are so many people who have gone through pain, sickness, divorce, broken relationships and much more. We all go through some kind of storms in life. That is a fact and it is always bound to happen. However, there are those that walk through life’s storms but they come our victorious, also there are some that encounter challenges on the way and then give up and turn back. I am going to share how to get through the storms of life.

It is never easy to go walk through the storms, but with God on your side nothing will be impossible. When I look back and bonder on Jesus’ disciples, I see how they were faced with challenges and storms in their time with Jesus. But when a storm arose while they were out on the Sea of Galilee, fear took over. In this moment, amidst the raging waves and the boat rocking, Jesus’ chosen followers failed to recall the lessons they had learned and the power and purposes of their leader. Even the appearance of Jesus walking on water didn’t bring immediate relief. In fact, they were so terrified. Click HERE to continue reading #TheGoodNewsMagazine

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 56th EDITION

FAVORED BY GOD -By Justus Ondieki

Hello precious brothers and sisters! Welcome back to our 56th Edition of the Good News Magazine. I must start by saying that indeed it is by God’s grace I am writing this. In this month’s edition we will share more of God’s favor upon His beloved ones. All of us I believe would want to be God’s favorites. If you are a parent of more than two kids, I believe that there is that favorite child who tends to be closer to you. Does it mean that you hate the others? Absolutely NO. You love them all except that there is one whom you feel so close with.

The story of Joseph is one which I believe many of us are familiar with. Jacob as we see from the Bible loved Joseph more than all of his children. Genesis 37:3 says, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.” As we know, Joseph was born to Jacobs’s favorite wife, Rachel. And to show his great love for this favored son, Jacob made Joseph a coat of many colors. And as a result of this, verse 4 says, “And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.”

I believe there is a lot to learn from the story of Joseph. God is teaching us something valuable here. God wants us to understand that we are also highly favored by Him. God has given us a robe of righteousness that we didn't earn or deserve, all because of what Jesus did for us on the cross! This robe we must wear it all the time. It’s called GRACE, and it’s beautiful, and colorful, and it makes you stand out. And the enemy hates it. But wait a minute: If God be for us, who can be against us? You are highly favored by God! THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 55th EDITION

THE WORLD NEEDS JESUS By Justus Ondieki

Hello precious friends, we from the Good News Magazine want to thank the Lord for this far He has brought us. Wow...it has been a long journey and we are grateful to the Lord for our 55th Edition. Thank you all for being part of this for I believe that you have been sharing this magazine with friends out there. May our good Lord bless each one of you for spreading the Good News.

We are living in dangerous times and as sin continues to abound evil continue to fill the earth. With the happenings around us, and especially where I live, the love of many has gone down. Why? We are in the last days. People are living a reckless life, they don’t care what will happen as a result of their actions. A mother kills her own baby next door, the next thing that happens she torches the house and flees away from the law enforcers. Upon enquiring what really happened, the reports we hear from neighbors is that the mother was quarrelling with the 3 year old boy why he lost a few shillings she had given him to get something from the grocery...it looks to me that the mother loves money than the boy’s life, hence murdering him in cold blood! This is a very heart breaking story. Many cases almost like this are happening in Kenya. There are so many cases pending in our courts regarding this. But my big concern is this: Who will bring justice to all those affected with such sickening deeds? Click HERE to continue reading The Good News Magazine

TH GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 54TH EDITION

WHERE DO THE CHILDREN FIT IN? By M. Deborah Senese

Hello and welcome to our 54th Edition of the Good News Magazine. I am going to start with this question:
Where DO children fit in when it comes to Christianity? When it comes to church? When it comes to growing in the Lord? When it comes to encouraging them in the Lord to continue on to be strong Christian young people who truly love the Lord? Personally, I believe the individual Christian as well as the Church (yes, I mean the united body of Believers) have a problem in this area. One that we are very capable to fixing with the Lord's help and a willing heart. There needs to be a special love for these children that some are blessed with instinctively, and others must learn. However, either way, children are vitally important to the Lord!

I was blessed enough to be raised in a church that was more like family than an assembly of people. For a short while when my mother first had my brother, she was not able to go to church with me, and I had the church bus picking me up and then dropping me off after church was over. The Sunday School bus, as I called it, was great! I was only four years old at the time, but the driver of the big school bus was Mr. Kelly. He always had a big smile and you could tell he just loved to see you as you climbed on that big bus! Along with him was another man that we only knew as Roy. Roy would hold on to the two rails in the front of the bus and lead all us kids in Sunday School songs as we drove from one house to another picking up other kids. I don't know whatever happened to him, but after a while, I just knew he was gone. I believe he went home to be with the Lord, but I was too young to discern that.

Once we arrived at church, from a young child's perception, everybody was so happy to see us. Hugs were given (but not always appreciated as much as I should have, and now, wish I had) small talk was always going on asking things like, “How was your week?” or “What did you do over the weekend?”. “Anything exciting happen this week?” Believe it or not, these people genuinely cared. Then up to Sunday School we would go. Once again, we were welcomed, told we were missed if we were sick the week before and so on...Click HERE to continue reading the Good News Magazine
