FAVORED

Hello precious brothers and sisters! Welcome
back to our 56th Edition of the Good News Magazine. I must start by
saying that indeed it is by God’s grace I am writing this. In this month’s
edition we will share more of God’s favor upon His beloved ones. All of us I
believe would want to be God’s favorites. If you are a parent of more than two
kids, I believe that there is that favorite child who tends to be closer to
you. Does it mean that you hate the others? Absolutely NO. You love them all
except that there is one whom you feel so close with.
The story of Joseph is one which I believe many of
us are familiar with. Jacob as we see from the Bible loved Joseph more than all
of his children. Genesis 37:3 says, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his
children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many
colours.” As we know, Joseph was born to Jacobs’s favorite wife, Rachel.
And to show his great love for this favored son, Jacob made Joseph a coat of
many colors. And as a result of this, verse 4 says, “And when his brethren saw that
their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could
not speak peaceably unto him.”
I believe there is a lot to learn from the story
of Joseph. God is teaching us something valuable here. God wants us to
understand that we are also highly favored by Him. God has given us a robe of
righteousness that we didn't earn or deserve, all because of what Jesus did for
us on the cross! This robe we must wear it all the time. It’s called GRACE, and
it’s beautiful, and colorful, and it makes you stand out. And the enemy hates
it. But wait a minute: If God be for us, who can be against us? You are highly
