THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 64th EDITION

PRAY ALWAYS  By Justus Ondieki

Hello and welcome back to our 64th Edition of the Good News Magazine. The world we are living in is full of evils, diseases and all manner of sins. What are believers supposed to do during these evil times? We are told to pray without ceasing! When we look at the history of the church of Jesus Christ, beginning on the day of Pentecost, is filled with wonderful stories of faithful men and women who willingly followed Jesus all the days of their lives regardless of their circumstances. Some stories were filled with joy; for example, the time Peter and John were able to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the temple area, and even though they were arrested, some five thousand men came to believe in Jesus as their Messiah. Other stories were filled with trials and temptations to forsake the faith hence the great persecution.

In every century men and women who loved Jesus Christ have found themselves in situations where they were tempted to deny Him for the sake of momentary relief from persecution including beatings, rejection, and death. The key to their faithfulness under such pressure was based on the encouragement our Lord gave His disciples in word and personal example in the garden of olive trees called Gethsemane just before His arrest, trial, crucifixion, and death on the cross of Calvary as Luke 22:40 puts it, "…Pray that ye enter not into temptation."

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 63rd EDITION

A JOURNEY OF FAITH

Welcome to our 63rd Edition of the Good News Magazine. We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and love toward us in this journey. Every believer knows that we are pilgrims in this word.  This journey I call it the ‘journey of faith’. And for everyone who follows Jesus Christ must then have faith and believe in the sent Son of God. Now, what is the bedrock of life for Christians? Is it Bible reading? Church participation? Prayer? Is it a belief that Jesus is God’s Son?

The foundation of Christian living is faith in Christ. Faith is the central loyalty that gives purpose and direction to our lives. Christian faith is grounding our lives in the living God as revealed especially in Jesus Christ. This faith does not happen overnight. It’s a journey. From birth to death we’re growing in faith. There are ups and downs, and sometimes long flat stretches where we seem to be stalled in our journey. But little by little, most of us deepen our relationship with God.

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 62ND EDITION

CALLED TO SERVE GOD -  By Justus Ondieki

Happy New Month dear friends. Welcome back to our 62nd Edition of the Good News Magazine.  I pray that you are all doing well. Well, I believe that each one of us has a special call in their lives. Some have been called to be apostles, teachers; others pastors, others evangelists and each call differs from one another according to the grace God has given someone to operate in, but we serve one master, God.

In the book of Matthew 6:24, the Bible says, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Yes, a man may do some service to two masters, but he can devote himself to the service of no more than one. Our God requires the whole heart, and will not share it with the world. When two masters oppose each other, no man can serve both. He who holds to the world and loves it, must despise God; he who loves God, must give up the friendship of the world. The choice is yours to decide!

Now you may ask, what does it mean to serve God? This is a good question. To start with you cannot serve God unless you’re born again. The first thing before you start serving God is to heed the call to salvation, you must be born again...

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 61ST EDITION

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE -  By Justus Ondieki

Praise the Lord for another new month of February! We are happy to bring you our 61st Edition of the Good News Magazine and we hope that it will bless your life as you continue to share with more people about JESUS.
In my neighborhood some years back, my neighbor who was my friend as well had traveled. Then one night, thugs broke into his home. The dogs barked and I knew there was something amiss. Without hesitation I woke up and headed to the window to get a quick glimpse at my friend’s place. I couldn’t see clearly as my security light had stopped working for some time then. Fortunately, three neighbors switched on their security lights and within a twinkling of an eye the thugs retreated and scampered back into the darkness…

From the above example we can learn a few things. First, light is very important to us all, without it many things could go wrong. Second, where there is light there is no need to be afraid of anything. Lastly, light drives out darkness! This is so true in our Christian walk with the Lord. You have to notice that my security light wasn’t functioning when the thugs broke into my friend’s home, but the moment the good neighbors switched on their security lights, everything changed!

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 60TH EDITION

RE-EVALUATING OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Hello and welcome to our 60th Edition of the Good News Magazine 2019.  We from the Good News Magazine would like to wish you a Happy New Year full of God’s blessings! Having said that, I believe each one of us sometimes need to sit down and check Biblically to see if our hearts line up with God’s heart.
As we begin examining ourselves this New Year, we must first make peace with our past and the relationships that have been broken through unforgiveness. 2018 is over and 2019 is already here. This is a good time to reflect and re-evaluate our relationship with our Lord. It is also a good time for God’s people to take inventory of their walk with the Lord. We should take a very close look at where we are in our relationship with Him. We need to examine ourselves and see where we have been, where we are and where the Lord wants us to be.

Let’s start by reading Psalms 139:23-24, Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. I believe all of us would want to walk right with God. We all desire to lead and live a holy life worth pleasing our Master. That’s why we need sometimes to ask ourselves, “Am I in the right direction? Have I sinned against God?” The more we continue to evaluate ourselves in this manner, the more we draw closer to God. As the Lord knows us thoroughly, and we are strangers to ourselves, we should earnestly desire and pray to be searched and proved by His word and Spirit. If there be any wicked way in me, let me see it; and do thou root it out of me. The way of godliness is pleasing to God and profitable to us; and will end in everlasting life. As believers, we all desire to be kept and led in this way, that we may not miss it, turn out of it, or tire in it. The best thing that happens when we allow God to search us through is that He will once again be able to lead us in the right path. Click HERE to continue reading #TheGoodNewsMagazine

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 59TH EDITION

SERVING ONE GOD By Justus Ondieki

Hello and welcome to our 59th Edition of the Good News Magazine. In this edition we are going to focus more on which God you serve.  Well, from the above title, you will agree with me that there are other gods that people serve other than the true One God whom we should serve. From the very beginning, God knew that men will worship other gods and turn away from Him. That is why He had to give the Ten Commandments which were to guide the children of Israel in the right way.

Let’s see what what Exodus 20:3-5 says, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Now, the first four of the Ten Commandments, tell our duty to God. It was fit that those should be put first, because man had a Maker to love, before he had a neighbor to love. The first commandment concerns the object of worship, JEHOVAH, and Him only. The worship of creatures is here forbidden. Whatever comes short of perfect love, gratitude, reverence, or worship, breaks this commandment. Whatsoever ye do, do all for the glory of God.

THE GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE 58TH EDITION

God Will Provide Through The Storms of Life -  By M. Deborah Senese

Hello and welcome back to our 58th Edition of the Good News Magazine. We hope and pray that you will continue to make God your Provider.

One of the things we usually set out to do when we hear a storm is coming is go to the store and make sure we get in enough provisions to see us through the duration of that storm.  We are so accustomed to this, that as soon as we get that warning, we kick into action. Sometimes, life sends us hurling through different kinds of storms. These can be situations that come on us so fast, there's no time to get provisions.  Some of these can be trials, sometimes it's health issues, perhaps the loss of a loved one that hit so unexpectedly.  We can't jump in our cars and run to the store for provisions for these things.  I know we as Americans really don't rely on provisions in our everyday life.
We have abundance everywhere we turn. Oh sure, we use the term, for instance we may say, – “The Lord provided us with a new car” or “The Lord provided our church with the means to get that new sound system.” Some of us remember times when God provided for needs in obvious ways like a check in the mail to cover rent or the generosity of a friend to pay for a hospital bill. We recognize these
as God’s provision, but we rarely depend on provision.  But shouldn't we be?
When God introduces Himself as Jehovah Jireh, meaning “the Lord will provide,” it’s not in the...Cick HERE to continue reading #TheGoodNewsMagazine
